Abstract

This is a draft of the PIPS version 1.01 users' guide and reference manual. It contains an overview of PIPS and how it can be obtained, installed and used.

PIPS stands for Parallel Information Processing System. The programs in this system convert data between the portable map image format (PNM) and the network common data format (NetCDF) and perform several operations on NetCDF files in parallel. The Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) tool is used for this.
