Time-Keeper-Zone

The time zones of the IANA database, compiled in, for Time::Keeper.

INSTALLATION

    perl Makefile.PL
    make
    make test
    make install

The tools/ directory holds tzcompile, the script that turns the IANA
time zone database into the tables this dist ships, with zic from the
same IANA release. It is not installed and is not needed to build or
install the dist: its output is part of the dist.

A NEW TZDATA RELEASE

A new IANA release is a new release of this dist alone; Time-Keeper does
not change. The C ABI (include/time_keeper_zone_abi.h) is append-only and
versioned: a release that adds to it bumps TKZ_ABI_VERSION, and Time-Keeper
checks the version it needs.

    1. Fetch tzdata and tzcode of the release into plan_time_keeper/sources/.
    2. Build zic from that tzcode, and run tools/tzcompile with it to
       regenerate include/tkz/tkz_data.h.
    3. Run every test, with RELEASE_TESTING, and the zdump oracles in xt/
       (xt/03-zdump-oracle.t, xt/04-zdump-engine.t, xt/05-transitions-zdump.t
       and xt/06-both-readings.t) against the new zic's zdump, with
       TKZ_ZIC, TKZ_ZDUMP and TKZ_TZDATA naming them.
    4. Bump $VERSION in lib/Time/Keeper/Zone.pm and add a line to Changes
       naming the release; regenerate the Makefile.
    5. make dist, then build and test from the unpacked tarball.
